PLEASE ALLOW ME TO
INTRODUCE MYSELF!
My parents sometimes retell me the story of how I wanted to become an athlete. I was sitting in my car seat, preparing to watch another one of my brother's football games.
I tagged along all the time, ate snacks, and did cartwheels, but I never got a chance to get in on the action. So, one day... I had had enough. I sat in my car seat and blurted out “When is it my turn?!”
I decided I wanted a chance to make my mark and have some fun.
From then on, I got involved in everything. I tried a ton of different sports - basketball, volleyball, softball, track, cross country, swimming, tennis, ping pong - I did it all!
Ultimately I chose basketball because it was fun and I loved shooting threes. I loved how the game has so many facets to explore, it never gets boring!
There is always something new to learn. You have the weight room, ball handling, IQ, passing, and, of course, shooting!
MY HERITAGE
I am Lebanese-American and a dual citizen. I don’t fit the stereotypical basketball player narrative and that’s why I love to play.
I love to show people my game and break down false assumptions. Being able to inspire other Arab girl hoopers is just one small piece of why I do what I do.
I want to play professionally one day and show that we can hoop too! You don’t have to fit into the mold. It’s okay to be different and go after what you want!
